Anna Hazare's indefinite fast did work with the government agreeing to his demands and issuing an order to form a Joint committee to draft an effective Lokpal bill. Its a happy news and even more happier to note that a lot of people reacted positively and even moved their muscles enough to participate in the nation wide events in support to Anna Hazare's fast.
Sarah Jospeh speaking in meeting supporting Anna Hazare's indefinite fast against corruption, urging for the Jan Lokpal bill
But what lies ahead of this?.....
Lets say the new law, the Jan Lokpal comes to existence, what do you think its efficacy would be, what's the efficacy of RTI(Right to Information), did it curb corruption.
The point is that in a political system which breeds and promotes the corrupt, how can even a million new laws curb the corruption?. Think about it........ So the obvious answer is to rethink and redesign the political system itself, to facilitate a system which is self-corrective or which implements people choices and needs. And this exactly what The Great India movement explores: http://groups.to/gi
